Meet the Owner - Ruth Lopez

My name is Ruth Lopez, I came to the United States from El Salvador when I was 16 years old. I went to Ballard High school in Seattle, Washington. A few years later I moved to Boston, MA and was given the opportunity to work to work at Harvard Medical Center. I was hired in the housekeeping department and worked for 3 years as a sanitation engineer from 1999-2002. My duties included sanitizing the pediatric department and general restock on supplies for the housekeeping.

In 2000, I got a second job as a shift manager at McDonalds where I managed day to day operations and overall sanitization of the location. I stayed in this position for 4 years and had my first son within that time.

In 2004, I joined Granite Communications in Quincy, MA as a cleaning manager. Here, I oversaw my staff’s schedules as well as the departments inventory supplies. I would also oversee housekeeping in all 4 levels of the building. I stayed in this position for 5 years from 04-09 in which I also won employee of the month.

In 2006, I got a second job as at comfort inn as an Executive Housekeeper. In this position, I oversaw a variety of responsibilities such as hiring employees, counseling, scheduling, as well as employee evaluations. In addition, I was also tasked with inventory responsibilities such as conducting cost control for staff, linen inventories, and cleaning supplies. I had to report and compile accurate reports on the status of guest rooms to the front office. I dedicated myself to this job for 6 years where I also won employee of the year in 2010. Current day I work at Beverly Athletic Club in Beverly, MA where I have been for 7 years now. I oversee the housekeeping duties of the entire main gym.

After having two more children in 2011 and 2013 I grew as a person and really realized how important family is in life. Even after so many different opportunities in so many different locations I realized I always go back to the cleaning industry because I love keeping things clean and helping families remain healthy just as I want for my own. From this newfound motivation I decided to really push my company, The Cleaning Crew, where we specialize in housekeeping of all locations such as company offices, laboratories, and most of all, homes.

In addition to these accomplishments, I was also Food safety/OSHA certified in both 2002 and 2008.
